“ Stumbled across this cute little cafe near London Bridge. It’s a breath of fresh air from the chaos of the city with how quaint and minimalist it is. Had a quick and lovely talk with Chen (the owner) and she has had this cafe for 7 years now. I had a cookie and a latte. The oatmeal raisin cookie was delightful and made exactly how I want it. Soft and a little moist. With the latte, it was so creamy and lovely to have on a nice cloudy afternoon. ”
“ The Steaming Pitcher is a wee gem of a coffee place! A lovely, diligent woman made the best cappuccino I’ve ever had. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted. Her dedication to her craft truly deserves a shout-out. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it a delightful spot. ”
“ I completely get that the UK is the land of Tea and I love a great cup of tea, but sometimes I just want some coffee. This was the case coming towards the end of our London stay on a Mother/Daughter trip in June 2023. We just happened to be staying at the Ibis Southwark and I did a google search for coffee and found the reviews for The Steaming Pitcher and it was in close proximity. I am so glad that this place exists. If you are a tourist like me, and you are wandering even with your Google maps (and there was some construction at the time), you may think you are in the wrong place even if you see the sign outside. I assure you to just walk up the steps into the great big doors and you will find your way. We let the gentleman (security I believe), know that we were going to the Steaming Pitcher and he pointed right in the direction we needed to be letting us know where it was in the building. Initially when walking over to the counter there was nobody there, but we weren't in a rush so we waited. After a bit, the owner I believe came back and apologize for the wait but we explained it was okay and ordered our coffee. I have been to many places in many countries for coffee, but this was the best iced coffee I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. I am not an iced coffee fan but it was hot and I did not want hot coffee, and at this point I don't even remember the type of latte I ordered but it was amazing and smooth. As I sat down with my daughter drinking our coffees, I told her, that we should have ordered a bigger size it was so good. I am not sure if it was the milk or what the difference was from other coffee I have had but this was amazing. Do yourself a favor and go grab some coffee from this place. I am hoping next time around we can try some food as well. ”
“ Such a fantastic place. Quite simply the best toasted cheese, ham and mustard sandwich in London! Run by such a genuine host who takes incredible care in presenting her food and drink... and it shows. A wonderful setting. If I’m ever in the area, this is my go to pit-stop for a recharge. Keep up the good work... we need more people in the world like you ”
“ The food was delicious! The service was even better! There was a large order before my friends and I, and we had to wait 15 minutes (which was no problem for us). After we waited, they brought out a brownie to thank us for waiting! It was a very kind gesture. ”
“ Delicious coffee, got a flat white done by a very kind barista. Highly recommend if you need a breather after a stroll through bustling Borough Market. ”
“ Absolutely the best coffee with steamed milk I had in London!! Small place, limited seats in historical buildings next to Borough Market. I was blown away by how delicious my flat white was! The barista perfectly steamed the milk to it’s velvety texture (not too foamy) and it’s own natural sweet flavor of milk combined with rich intense coffee flavor. The cups come in fair price. Nothing goes wrong here. Very friendly and skillful barista who knows exactly how to brew the amazing cup to delight your day. ”
“ Great setting to just sit for awhile, my cortado was a little sour, and the almond croissant is cheap compared to anywhere else in London for its size but not sweet/almondy enough. ”
